Philip Saunders\n\nas our Guest Speaker\n\n \n\n\n\n \nMr. Saunders began in 1958 with his father's gas station\, building it into the Truckstops of America chain\, later to become Travel Centers of America. He is also credited with growing the Sugar Creek convenience stores during his tenure as the owner of Griffith Oil Company. His diversified business interests extend to auto and truck rental\, recreation and tourism\, packaged foods\, property management\, and banking.\n\n \n\nAs one of the bank's founders\, Mr. Saunders serves as Chairman of Genesee Regional Bank\; he also chairs the boards of Valley Fuels and Paul Smith's College. Mr. Saunders also serves on the Board of Directors of American Rock Salt\, Buckingham Properties\, Lewis Tree\, Passero Associates\, NYS Trooper Foundation\, Torvec Inc.\, Rochester Institute of Technology\, Western New York Energy\, and Young Entrepreneurs Academy. He was formerly the Executive Vice President and Director of Ryder Systems\, Owner/CEO of Econo-car International\, and Owner/CEO of Richardson Foods Corporation.\n\n\n\nCarla Vazquez will be presenting our Business in the Spotlight Award to Cardwell Construction.
